Sangguniang Kabataan chair hurt in bike accident
CEBU, Philippines - The Sangguniang Kabataan chairman of Barangay Libo, Sibonga sustained injuries after he hit a running bus on the national highway of barangay Bagakay Thursday evening.
Police said Jade Casayas, 16, scraped his body on the side of the running Ceres bus (RHS-947) driven by Emerito Erojo, 32, of Barangay Palanas, Alcantara.
PO2 Ederlino Bacusmo, Sibonga police investigator said Casayas was driving a black Honda XRM motorcycle (9714 GG) while tailing the bus bound for the north.
Casayas allegedly lost control of his motorcycle when the bus suddenly stopped to pick up passengers. He failed to step on the brakes causing to fell to the ground and got pinned under his motorcycle.
Police believed the wet road due to the heavy rain also triggered the accident.
Casayas was taken to Dr. Deiparene Medical Clinic but was later referred to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City for further medication. (FREEMAN)
