229 complete reservists' training

CEBU, Philippines - More than 200 Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) cadets from different colleges and universities have completed the Advance Summer Camp Training at the Central Command (Centcom).

The training, which was spearheaded by the 7th Regional Community Defense Group of the Army Reserve Command based in Centcom, had a culminating activity last Monday afternoon.

The two-week summer camp training was participated by the colleges and universities in Cebu which offer ROTC courses.

The schools were the Cebu Technological University (CTU) main campus and its satellite campuses in Argao, Barili, Moalboal, Danao City and Tuburan, the University of San Jose-Recolletos, the Talisay City College, the Consolacion Community College and the Lapu-Lapu City College.

Of the 229 cadets, 72 of them belong to the Military Science 41 and 42 Class 02-2011 while the remaining 157 cadets belong to the Military Science 3 Class 08-2011 and have satisfactorily completed the program of instruction prescribed for ROTC Summer Camp Training.

The summer camp training began last April 18 and ended on 02 May 2011 at the Centcom headquarters.

Among the highlights during the closing ceremony was the awarding of certificates as rewards to the deserving cadets. (FREEMAN)
