'No ID, no entry' system for all CH employees
CEBU, Philippines - Starting today, it will be ‘no ID, no entry’ system for Cebu City Hall employees but soon enough, tighter security policy will be imposed on visitors who will enter the City Hall.
The blue guards will no longer allow City Hall employees of all ranks to enter the executive and legislative buildings if they will fail to present their ID cards.
Employees must also wear the ID cards at all times.
Romeo Cordova, city consultant for peace and order, said the new policy is for security purposes. He, however, clarified that the City Hall did not receive a threat.
He said they are only being proactive to avoid untoward incidents in the future.
Mayor Michael Rama said the city should have implemented the policy long time ago because being open to all kinds of people puts the place always at risk of bad elements.
The ‘No ID, No Entry’ policy came after the city government moved to hire blue guards to boost the security within the City Hall premises.
The City Hall used to be guarded by Barangay Intelligence Network personnel.Cordova said there will be another identification system for constituents and visitors but the guidelines will be posted later.
He said they also have to consider the constituents who come to the City Hall without valid ID like the ordinary vendors. —/LPM (FREEMAN)
