CEBU, Philippines - The Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. yesterday launched a comprehensive program for education that features various initiatives, including the rehabilitation of dilapidated public school buildings in Cebu.
The program provides an opportunity for various stakeholders to take part in improving the quality of education in Cebu.
With aim to address the pressing gap in physical facilities of mass-based education, RAFI’s School Rehabilitation Program has allocated P30 million for classroom repair in the province.
The program provides safer and more conducive learning facilities for public elementary school children, as it contributes to the improvement of the quality of education.
Covering public elementary schools all over Cebu, the project has already rehabilitated 456 classrooms in 136 schools in 34 towns, benefiting over 18,000 students.
Department of Education Undersecretary Francisco Varela, who was the keynote speaker during the event, thanked the foundation for helping uplift the quality of education in the country. –/LPM (FREEMAN)
