PB offers prayers for vice governor

-

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Provincial Board has agreed to offer a healing prayer for Vice Governor Gregorio Sanchez Jr. at the start of every regular PB session.

Acting Vice Governor Agnes Magpale, who presided yesterday’s regular session, said the prayer was prepared by her office and Sanchez’s chief of staff, Evangeline de Paula.

“Holy God and Father of all, You who are the source of health and healing, You who relieve suffering and comfort the afflicted, stretch out Your healing hands upon our beloved colleague, Vice Governor Greg Sanchez who right now is suffering from a serious ailment…We come before You, trusting in Your goodness and Kindness as we lift up before Vice Governor Sanchez for a healing miracle. But more than physical healing, root out all his hurts and supplant them with understanding and forgiveness…May Sir Greg find in his critical moments renewed strength and a deeper faith and trust in you. Help him to develop a greater awareness of the power that everything is possible with You…We humbly beg for his spiritual and physical healing. But if it is your will, O Lord, we entrust him to You for nothing happens without a reason,” part of the prayer read.

Magpale said they will offer the prayers again in their next session in the hope Sanchez will soon be well enough to go back to work.

Sanchez filed his leave of absence from March 1 to April 30, 2011.

The family of Sanchez is appealing for a miracle and prayers for his recovery and prayers from their friends.

De Paula said that all personnel of the Office of the Vice Governor also offered the prayer for Sanchez every 3 p.m.

Sanchez is now confined at the hospital for stage 4 lung cancer. (FREEMAN)
