"Jealous ex" stabs woman dead
CEBU, Philippines - A 29-year-old woman died after she was stabbed by her ex-boyfriend in Sitio Kalubihan, Barangay San Nicolas, Cebu City Saturday afternoon.
Jocelyn Añora, 29, was stabbed allegedly by Henry Cabalda, 51, a widower from M. Concepcion, Pasil, Cebu City at about 5:40 in the afternoon inside her rented room in Barangay San Nicolas.
Three people occupying the upper floor of the rented house heard loud shouts from Añora, who was occupying the ground floor.
Carlo Magno Magsipoc, 24, Neil Toledo, 36 and Teresita Rostauro, 26, all rushed downstairs to check.
They were surprised to see Añora sprawled in the hallway of the ground floor, already bloodied and with stab wounds in her left armpit.
The three also saw the suspect calmly walking out of the house holding a bloodied knife.
The suspect later surrendered to SPO4 Felipe Sosmeña of the San Nicolas Police Station.
Añora was immediately brought to the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) by responding barangay tanods of San Nicolas but she was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
SPO4 Alex Dacua of Homicide Division in CCPO said that the suspect frequently visited the victim in her house for about a month now.
Dacua further said that the victim has a live-in partner who was not around at the time the victim was stabbed.
Police are looking at a love triangle as reason for the killing.
Meanwhile, a 58-year-old man was stabbed at Villagonzalo 2 barangay Tejero, Cebu City at around 10 o’clock last Saturday evening.
Teodoro Miano, married, was stabbed allegedly by his neighbor, Andres Ursal. According to the police, Miano went to Ursal’s house to collect payment for a debt but Ursal got angry and stabbed Miano in the stomach.
Ursal fled while Miano was taken to the Cebu Doctor’s Hospital where he is in critical condition and under intensive care. —
