UCPB now payroll provider of Capitol

- Kenneth B. Pael -

CEBU, Philippines - The United Coconut Planters Bank (UCPB) is now the payroll service provider of the Capitol after the signing of the memorandum of agreement today.

UCPB executive vice president Edmond Bernardo said this is their first time to partner with a local government unit.

Bernardo said they chose Cebu because the province has been excelling economically and politically.

He said Cebu would be a great model in their effort to attract more institutions and LGUs to avail of their services.

He said they have established a computerized payroll service facility using biometrics.

Provincial accounting office in charge Emmanuel Guial said he was amazed by the system that UCPB introduced.

Guial said they are currently using manual calculations of payrolls but with the new system, they will be able to eliminate human errors since it is fully automated. — (FREEMAN)
