HPG motorist assistance centers for Lenten season

CEBU, Philippines -  The Regional Highway Patrol Unit will establish assistance centers for motorists during the Lenten season.

Chief Insp. Eduardo Mara, Highway Patrol Unit chief operation officer said, there will be four such centers in Cebu province. These will be in Danao City, Liloan, Minglanilla and Carcar.

Mara said the centers will help secure the highways especially the accident-prone areas. The personnel manning the centers will also conduct a 24-hour patrol.

Meanwhile, Mara said they will also monitor against the “kontrata” system, wherein drivers collect high fares from passengers.

Mara encourages people to speak out and report this kind of activity to the authorities. (FREEMAN)
