Shootings kill 1, injure another
CEBU, Philippines - A construction worker died while another man was injured in separate shooting incidents in Cebu City during the weekend.
Jerry Limas, 21, succumbed to gunshot wounds shortly before midnight on Sunday when two unidentified persons shot him in the nape and in the back. The victim, who was a resident of Veteran’s Drive in Barangay Lahug, was drinking beer along the road when his assailants shot him without any provocation using an unknown caliber of firearm.
Limas tried to seek cover by running towards the interior portion of their place but the perpetrators chased him.
Police Officer 3 Victor Rule Ayuman of the Homicide Section said they are still conducting investigation to determine the motive behind the incident.
Meanwhile, Junifer Gajudo, 32, resident of Barangay T. Padilla, sustained a gunshot wound in the face after he was shot by unidentified man in Barangay Kamagayan last Saturday.
Investigation conducted by the police show that the victim was walking at the interior portion of the place at 8:30 pm to visit the cousin of his wife when the perpetrator attacked him.
The police are yet to determine the motive behind the murder try because the victim could not be interviewed yet. Gajudo is confined at the Cebu City Medical Center and is described to be in critical condition. (FREEMAN)
