CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office filed a murder case yesterday against a man in barangay Tejero, Cebu City after finding that there is probable cause to charge him for a shooting incident last year.
Accused for murder is Bobet Vargas and no bail is recommended for his temporary liberty.
In a resolution, Prosecutor I Anna Lou Fernandez-Cavada stated that it is undisputable that a man died last March 22, 2010 and eyewitnesses positively identified Vargas as the perpetrator.
The resolution further stated that the killing of Julius Ordiz was premeditated by Vargas and his cousin, Reggie Halichic.
There is no doubt that the two “planned and conspired to eliminate the victim” and committed the crime with treachery,” according to the resolution.
Vargas was reportedly the one who gunned down the victim while Halichic acted as back-up. Halichic was arrested and charged separately for his participation.
Complainant Marlino Mata, father of the victim, stated that moments after he heard a burst of gunfire, he was informed that his son was the victim.
On his way to the area to check, he saw Vargas walking towards Villagonzalo Street with a gun tucked in his waistline.
Mata saw his son wounded and slumped on the ground. The victim was taken to the Cebu City Medical Center for treatment but he died in the early morning of March 23, 2010. – (FREEMAN)
