Cocaine, shabu seized
CEBU, Philippines - An estimated P5 million worth of cocaine, small packs of shabu and two guns were seized during a buy-bust operation by different units of the Mandaue City Police Office in the city’s “drug haven” in Barangay Mantuyong, Mandaue City.
The police estimated that the cocaine brick approximately weighed one kilo. Each gram of cocaine is estimated to have a street value of P5,000.
The drugs were seized from the house of Parhana Ebrahim, alias “Furuki”, the subject of the police operation, by elements of the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force, Intelligence Branch, Mandaue Police Station 5 and the Special Weapons and Tactics team around 4:30 a.m.
A poseur-buyer handed a P500 bill to Ebrahim in exchange for shabu, but she immediately suspected it was a sting operation after she saw several men show up and surround the area.
The suspect then tried to close the door of her house but she was pursued by the operatives who found four more people inside.
They were identified as Ali Dimasanggay, Dandy Sultan, Raisa Dilinogun and Palawan Datokunog.
Police confiscated a .38 cal. revolver with three live rounds and P8,000 cash believed to be drug money from Dimasanggay, another revolver with two live rounds was found on Sultan.
Both Dilinogun and Datokunog were found with a small pack of suspected shabu each.
The cocaine brick was later found in the house.
None of those arrested admitted owning the cocaine. They are now detained awaiting the filing of charges against them for possession of drugs and guns.
The house of Ebrahim is near another woman suspect, Asliah Diba, who eluded arrest last Mar. 19 after police found shabu worth P1.2 million in her house. (FREEMAN)
