UV honors law alumni

CEBU, Philippines - In their long run tradition of excellence and high spirited service, the University of the Visayas-Gullas Law School recognized yesterday another set of exceptional alumni for 2011.   

Justices Regino Hermosisima, Jr., Portia Hermachuelos and Pampio Abarintos were among the latest batch of alumni awarded by the university for possessing the attributes of a true Visayanian.

Aside from them another 26 alumni serving in private offices, local and national agencies were recognized. Awarded as achievers, among others, were Regional Trial Court Judges Leopoldo Cañete, Apolinario Buaya and Antonio Marigomen, Municipal Trial Court in Cities Judges Roger Lucmayon and Jose Rene Dondoyano and Municipal Trial Court Judge Gerardo Gestopa, Jr. 

According to them, UV remained the same, preserving the UV tradition for years to come. Though most of them have aged, the alumni still honor the university by being honest in their respected work. 

No one who is not a Visayanian could truly see and understand their spirit, though most of them have aged, the same youthful radiance still remain in their smiles and laughs.

Atty. Joseph Baduel told The FREEMAN that he is very happy to once again gather exceptional people of honor in one place to be recognized for working so hard for the society.

Over 300 UV law professionals attended the event at the exquisite UV HRM Banquet Hall where they reminisce their past as they meet once again with their batch mates and colleagues.
