CEBU, Philippines - The bulk of the P70-million Priority Development Assistance Fund that each of the two Cebu City Representatives get will be spent in financial assistance rather than infrastructure projects.
Reps. Rachel “Cutie’ del Mar and Tomas Osmeña yesterday reported to the 80 barangay captains of Cebu City during the first general assembly of the Association of Barangay Councils how they intend to spend their pork barrel this year.
Del Mar who represents the 47 barangays in the North District said she has allocated a total of P23 million for infrastructure projects in 17 barangays. Osmeña in the south district on the other hand said he is implementing drainage projects in Barangays Punta Princesa and Labangon. There are 33 barangays in the South District.
Although Osmeña said he is giving fire extinguisher to all chapels in the city and medical assistance amounting to P25,000 to every resident in his district. Osmeña has also allocated P10,000 fire assistance to every family.
Del Mar said there are 17 barangays in her district that will receive P500,000 each for various infrastructure projects such as drainage, multi-purpose buildings and sports complex, road concreting, footbridges and spillway.
These include Barangays Apas, Bacayan, Camputhaw, Capitol Site, Kasambagan, Lorega San Miguel, Luz, Mabolo, Pahina Central, Sambag II, San Antonio, Sta. Cruz, Talamban, T. Padilla, Zapatera, Pari-an, Budla-an, Carreta, Day-as Hipodromo, Kalubihan, Kamagayan, Malubog, San Jose, San Roque, Tinago, Tejero, Pit-os, Cogon Ramos, Taptap, Adlaon, Busay, Cambinocot, Guba, Lusaran, Mabini, Sirao, Banilad, Paril, Pulangbato, Binaliw and Agsung-ot.
Del Mar said the rest of her PDAF will be spent for burial, medical, demolition and calamity assistance. (FREEMAN)
