Two men found dead with gunshot wounds

CEBU, Philippines - Two unidentified men were found dead yesterday morning after they were separately shot by still unknown assailants in Cebu City.

The dead bodies were discovered over an hour apart in Sitio Adelfa, Barangay Kinasang-an and C. Padilla St, in Barangay Duljo-Fatima.

A man wearing a black shirt with a red “Dickies” print on it and red pants, in his early 20s and about 5’6” to 5’7” tall was found by Erickson Canoy, 25, in Kinasang-an.

Canoy said he was walking on his way home when he discovered the body of the victim sprawling on the ground lying on his back. He immediately called for his landlady Milagros Alquisar who in turn called her son and asked assistance from the barangay tanods and Pardo Police Station.

PO3 Lou Pagara of the Homicide Section said that Canoy, who works as a security guard detailed at the Robinsons Talisay City Branch, just disembarked from the jeepney when he noticed a commotion some 200 meters away from him.

A deformed slug of still undetermined caliber was recovered near the crime scene. A silver necklace, handkerchief and a ball cap were recovered from the fatality’s possession.

In Duljo-Fatima, the unidentified shooting victim is estimated to be at 35 to 40 years old. He was found dead with gunshot wounds on his forehead and chest.

Security guard Jay Fernando Cruz, 40, assigned at the garage of Corominas Taxi said he heard three bursts of gunfire nearby before the dead body was found.

The fatality was wearing a brown jacket and blue pants. An identification card was found in the victim’s clothes which bears the name of one Wendelito Estenzo assigned in the maintenance stock of API Holdings, Inc. a bundle of keys was also recovered. — (FREEMAN)
