Body to determine future city priorities

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu City Council has created a committee to determine the 19 sets of the Executive-Legislative Agenda (ELA) of the local government’s strategic directions for the next three years of the present administration.

Vice Mayor Joy Augustus Young, the council’s presiding officer, has tasked councilors Margarita Osmeña and Augustus “Jun” Pe, and city secretary Cynthia Kahulugan, to study and assess the documents. 

The initial list was drawn up from a series of workshops was presented and classified as relating to social governance, environment, economic and economic governance.

Pe said the full details of their committee reports will be submitted to the council but not all that are in the ELA were discussed during the workshops.

“The rest of the ELA documents were not part of the discussion,” Pe said, adding the full details are not yet to be released since they are yet to be approved by the committee and have to be presented to the council for adaption and approval.

The ELA is prepared by Belinda Navascues, the secretary of Mayor Michael Rama.

The formation of the ELA involved the participation of various stakeholders in the community that will work from needs identification to plan implementation, monitoring and evaluation. (FREEMAN)
