Man stabbed dead by his neighbor

CEBU, Philippines - A man was stabbed by his neighbor last Tuesday evening for allegedly having an affair with the neighbor’s wife.

Claudio Bayu, 24, of barangay Maigang, Barili died on the spot. Christopher Abaceña, 42, a farmer, surrendered to the Barili Police Station.

Bayu was walking home about 7:00 in the evening when Abaceña waylaid him at a dark portion of a corner in sitio Ukban, barangay Maigang. Abaceña stabbed him in the chest with a 16-inch bolo.

Their neighbors claimed that Bayu and Abaceña’s wife were dating for a week before the incident happened.

Abaceña’s younger brother also alleged that he saw Bayu and the wife having sex in a grassy and secluded area a week ago. The two reportedly admitted doing it but stressed that it happened only once.

Days ago, Bayu apologized to Abaceña inside Abaceña’s house.

Barili police investigator PO2 Hector Veloso said the entire neighborhood knew of the illicit love affair, although the family of Abaceña’s wife denied this.

“Ingon ang inahan sa babaye nga bisan gamay wala sila’y nabantayan,” Veloso said. (The woman’s mother said they never noticed anything of that sort.) — (BANAT NEWS)
