Minor arrested for stabbing man
CEBU, Philippines - A 15-year-old boy was placed under arrest for allegedly stabbing a 19-year-old boy in Barangay Poblacion, Borbon around 3am yesterday.
The victim was identified as Jessie Elaida, a native of Camotes Island and currently staying at Sitio Intermedia, Barangay Poblacion of the said municipality. The Freeman is withholding the name of the suspect owing to his minority.
PO3 Cejano Jose of the Borbon Police said it was a certain Bernard James Modequillo who reported the incident. They immediately followed the lead to verify the information.
Jose said it appears that personal grudge was the main cause of the stabbing.
“Gipareglahan man gud na ang suspect. Murag ang bata wa na ka-agwanta sa pagkulata sa iya mao nanimaws. Unya murag naa pud suya-suya,” Jose added.
SPO2 Morie Magdadaro and PO2 Roy Hortelano, the ones who pursued the suspect eventually found the boy with the help of the father. They found him in Barangay Campusong and confiscated from him a nine-inch kitchen knife, which police suspect was the weapon used to stab Elaida.
Elaida sustained stabbed wounds on his back and right arm and was rushed to the Juan Dosado Memorial Hospital in Sogod town. He was later transferred to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City. (FREEMAN)
