Farmers in Bogo get DAR lands
CEBU, Philippines - At least 38 farmers from the landholdings previously owned by Manuel Link in Baranagy Binabag, Bogo have recently received their Certificates of Land Ownership Awards (CLOAs) from the Department of Agrarian Reform.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer II Grace Fua, Link and Bogo Vice Mayor Santiago Sevilla distributed the CLOAs to the agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in a ceremony held at the barangay hall.
Fua congratulated the ARBs and advised them to do something worthy of their farms with the assistance from the Beneficiaries Development and Coordination Division (BDCD).
She challenged the farmers to keep the land productive and to pay their amortization to the Land Bank of the Philippines as well as their taxes.
Gladly watching the farmers as they received their certificates, Link said that they should value the land to make it more fruitful, adding that he would support their endeavors.
After the distribution of certificates, the farmers did the ceremonial plowing and putting of Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program property signage.
The land covers 30.7681 hectares under the compulsory acquisition scheme of CARP last December 28, 2010.
Among those who attended the ceremony were lawyer Alvin Arante, OIC PARO I Paulino Tudlasan Jr., Chief for BDCD Varinia Fabillar, OIC Chief for Operations Lourdes Archua, Legal Officer Edgar Guanzon, Chief Land survey Section Engr. Elmer Grengia, Bogo Municipal Agrarian Reform Officer (MARO) Alan Bandolon, MARO-Tabuelan Elena Bandolon and Provincial Information Officer Rosanna Gay Visitacion. (FREEMAN)
