Bong, Gwen mum on tandem
CEBU, Philippines - Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla, Jr. and Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia remain silent on their rumored tandem in the coming 2016 presidential elections.
The two would only answer questions relative to their political plans with a sweetest smile saying that elections are still very far.
"Malayo pa ang election pero titingnan natin," Revilla said.
The number one senator was in Cebu during the Sinulog. He was joined by his wife Congresswoman Lani Mercado. Garcia on the other hand gives her sweetest smile in answer to the question whether she will be Revilla’s runningmate in 2016.
Revilla said earlier that Garcia will make a good vice president. He even introduced the third termer Governor as the next vice president when he was asked to speak during Garcia’s 55th birthday celebration last October.
It was not the first time though that Garcia was considered as material for vice president.
During the 2010 presidential elections there were already offers for her to run for vice president but she opted to seek for reelection.
Revilla and Garcia were supposed to meet each other last Sunday at Mariquita Salimbangon Yeung’s house. However, their schedules did not allow the meeting.
Garcia had to dance for the Sinulog while Revilla had to catch for his flight back to Manila.
There were talks that Revilla met with some Cebu mayors but no one has confirmed it. (FREEMAN NEWS)
