Consolacion plans to convert former dumpsite into park

CEBU, Philippines - The Municipal Government of Consolacion will convert the old dumpsite in barangay Polog into an eco-tourism park following the opening of a sanitary landfill at a nearby area.

Consolacion Mayor Alegado told The FREEMAN she has proposed to the Sangguniang Bayan the conversion of the dumpsite.

The sanitary landfill is a joint venture between the Municipal Government and a Manila-based company called Asian Energy System Corporation.

A Memorandum of Agreement was signed recently between the municipal government and the Asian Energy System Corporation.

The facility will also produce power.

Asian Energy Systems Corporation president Cipriano Abdon and Mayor Teresa Alegado of Consolacion signed the agreement. (FREEMAN)
