CEBU, Philippines - A graduate of the Cebu Doctors University Hospital landed in the top 10 in the recent Dentist Licensure Examination given by the Board of Dentistry in Manila this month, according to the results released by the Professional Regulation Commission yesterday.
Joanna Bless Tago Yap scored 83.18-percent and shared on the sixth spot with Andrianne Ang Gomez of the University of the Philippines- Manila. Yap is the lone graduate from Cebu who landed in the top 10.
This year’s topnotcher was Pia dela Cruz Briones of UP-Manila with an average score of 85.12-percent. Other topnotchers are; Jefalyn Mae Salomon Garcia of the University of Baguio and Leonida Pascua Garcia of UP-Manila who shared on the second spot with 84.04-percent; on the third place is Dindo Agustin Rabino of UP-Manila, 83.67; Arianne Torreres Sadiang-Abay of UP-Manila, 83.33; Ma. Fatima Bernaldez Dolor of UP-Manila, 83.24; Katrina Pe Lo of UP-Manila, 83.17; Roxanne dela Pierre Donato of UP-Manila, 83.10; Ulysses Catacutan Patalinghug of UP-Manila, 82.84; and Reuel Cucio Beatriz of Adventist University of the Philippines, 82.65.
The PRC said only 251 out of the 787 takers passed the exam. The successful examinees are advised to register on Monday, January 3, for the issuance of their professional identification card and certificate of registration.
They are required to bring the duly accomplished oath form or panunumpa ng propesyonal; current community tax certificate; 2 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag; 1 piece 1” x 1” picture (colored with white background and complete name tag); 2 sets of metered documentary stamps, and 1 short brown envelope with name and profession; and to pay the initial registration fee of p600 and annual registration fee of p450 for 2011-2014.
The oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees in the said examination as well as the previous ones who have not taken their oath of professional will be held before the Board on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at 1:30 in the afternoon at the Fiesta Pavilion, Manila Hotel, One Rizal Park, Roxas Boulevard, Manila. — (THE FREEMAN)
