CEBU, Philippines - Cebu Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal yesterday dawn said he was happy that churches across the country overflow with people for the Misa de Gallo.
However, Vidal reminded churchgoers that their faith should not end there.
"Dili malalis kining inyong kadaghan, kining inyong kadasig bunga na kini sa inyong buhi nga pagtuo", said Vidal in his six-minute homily, adding that they should live as "Kristyanos," following the footsteps of Christ.
Vidal also challenged churchgoers to reunite with old acquaintances, family and friends, as this is how love to Christ should be expressed the most, especially this Christmas.
Vidal celebrated the sixth day of the Misa de Gallo in Sto. Niño Parish in barangay Mohon, Talisay City yesterday morning.
The prelate was also happy to say that he helped build the Sto. Niño Parish church in 1985.
The Sto. Niño Parish is celebrating its Silver Jubilee this year.
This year marks Vidal's last time to say the Misa de Gallo as archbishop before he retires next year.
He will be replaced by Archbishop Jose Palma of Palo, Leyte. (FREEMAN)
