Maker of headstones shot dead
CEBU, Philippines - A maker of headstones was shot dead by two motorcycle-riding men in sitio Cahipa, Barangay Hipodromo last Sunday afternoon.
Nicey Ramos Almonicar, 34, single and a resident of the place, died of several gunshot wounds.
Investigation showed that the victim was sitting at the back of a parked multicab along M.J. Cuenco Avenue when he was shot past 5pm. The assailant immediately fled towards General Maxilom Avenue on board a motorcycle driven by a cohort.
Almonicar was rushed to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center, but he was declared dead on arrival.
Five empty shells of caliber .45 pistol and three slugs of the same caliber were recovered from the crime scene. Police are eyeing personal grudge as a motive behind the incident. (THE FREEMAN)
