CEBU, Philippines - Capitol employees will get at least P20,000 each next week as their productivity enhancement incentives while those receiving monthly salary higher than said amount will receive a month equivalent of their salary.
This was announced yesterday by Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia during the Christmas party at the Capitol.
The Provincial Board is set to pass a supplemental budget on Monday so these could be released before Christmas Day.
While Malacañang has granted at least P10,000 across the board bonus to all government employees in the national agencies, Garcia said that only Cebu of the 80 provinces can afford to grant such amount.
Garcia explained that the Provincial Government is spending less than the 45-percent ceiling for personal services, making enough savings.
“We have available resources best utilized under very sound fiscal management,” Garcia told reporters.
Capitol only has 1,600 employees, including elected officials, regular, casual and co-terminus staff. (FREEMAN)
