Women arrested for peddling sex

CEBU, Philippines - The police in Mandaue City arrested Sunday evening eight women and two girls for peddling sex near the Cebu International Convention Center at the Reclamation Area. The two girls were turned over to the City Social Welfare Services.

An hour later, the same team arrested five women and a gay man for a similar offense.

Arrested were Jessica Yanco, 26, married, of barangay Ibabao, Cordova town, Maricel Barrientos, 18, married, of barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City, Lorna Naparo, single, 30, of sitio Kamansi, barangay Paknaan, Sherly Mistorres, single, 32, of barangay Tisa, Raquela Dacay, 24, of barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City, and Ruel Rustia, 19, of A.C Cortes Street, barangay Guizo, Mandaue City.
