CEBU, Philippines - A woman, who allegedly pimped a 14-year-old girl to an American national, was indicted for human trafficking.
The Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office has filed the case for violation of the Republic Act 9208 otherwise known as the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act against the alleged girl friend of American national Perry McNeely.
The Freeman withheld the accused’s name as provided for under the anti-trafficking law. Assistant city prosecutor Simaco Labata found probable cause to indict her of the crime after she failed to submit counter-affidavit.
The accused, who is said to be girl friend of McNeely, reportedly invited the 14-year-old victim on December 1, 2009 to the hotel where the American national was billeted.
The minor was left with Mc Neely inside the hotel room while the accused supposedly went out to buy food. The victim claimed she was raped by McNeely, a separate case was already filed and now pending before the Regional Trial Court Branch 6.
After raping the minor, Mc Neely allegedly took pictures of the naked victim. The investigation of the police revealed that the accused was acting a pimp for McNeely.
The prosecutor’s office did not recommend bail for the accused’s temporary liberty. (FREEMAN)
