Police arrest woman for drug pushing
CEBU, Philippines – A "level three" drug pusher was arrested by the members of the City Intelligence Branch (CIB) on Wednesday evening at Sto. Niño St., barangay Hipodromo, Cebu City.
Seized from the suspect were illegal drugs amounting to P100,000.
Police confiscated from 22-year-old April Marie Badon 45 small packs and 1 large pack of suspected illegal drugs, P69,000-cash and 1 KG9 magazine.
The arrest was made by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge Silvestre Maamo Jr. of Branch 17 of the Regional Trial Court. The warrant was dated December 3.
It was a joint operation of the City Intelligence Branch (CIB) headed by Chief Inspector Romeo Santander and the Intelligence and Detective Management Branch (IDMB) headed by Chief Inspector George Ylanan.
Badon was under surveillance for two weeks before she was arrested inside her house. Santander said Badon did not resist when they handcuffed her.
He described Badon as a level three-pusher who sells 100 to 200 grams of illegal drugs a week amounting between P90,000 to P100,000.
Badon allegedly served as the receiver of the earnings of the illegal drugs sold by his brother, Kerwin Espinosa, who is detained at the Bagong Buhay Rehabilitation Center (BBRC).
Badon refused to give any statement to reporters.
"I have my lawyer with me," she said.
Santander told The FREEMAN that they are still monitoring the area for the other pushers.
"Continuous among operation kay naa man gud niy mga batos," he said. (FREEMAN)
