Woman arrested for qualified theft

CEBU, Philippines – Personnel from the Cebu City Police Office's Homicide Section arrested a woman in Private Road, Barangay Tingub, Mandaue City yesterday morning.

The arrested was made by virtue of a warrant for a case of qualified theft.

Mary Jane Coal, 36 and currently unemployed, is now detained after the management of a bank where she used to work with filed a case against her.

PO3 Victor Ruel Ayuman of the Homicide Section, one of the arresting officers, said the warrant was issued by Judge Soliver Peras of the Regional Trial Court Branch 10. The arrest was made at past 10 am yesterday.

Ayuman said the suspect's case was qualified theft for falsification of commercial documents. No bail was recommended for her temporary release.

She is temporarily detained at the CCPO detention cell while waiting for the decision of the court relative to her case.

Ayuman could not give further details to her case, saying it is already at the court. (FREEMAN)
