Subdivision in Lapu-Lapu downplays couple's plaint

- Jose P. Sollano -

CEBU, Philippines - The management of MSY Holdings, developer of Bayswater Subdivision in Lapu-Lapu City is downplaying a complaint lodged by a couple who had bought two houses but is now demanding reimbursement.

In yesterday's press conference, MSY Holdings represented by lawyer Joy Pesquera said the management has complied with all the requirements in undertaking the development and in building the houses. But the couple allegedly wanted the houses finished ahead of the schedule.

Jaye Caga-Logan lodged a complaint against MSY Holdings, the developer of Bayswater Subdivision located in barangay Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City.

According to Pesquera, the delivery date of the project was scheduled on March 2011, and the couple and those who had signed were aware of this date.

Pesquera said the couple knew this during the groundbreaking of the project sometime in 2009.

"They knew of the status of the development because their agents attended the orientation seminar, so in a normal situation one's agent will tell everything that transpired and we are so transparent," Pesquera said.

She said every week MSY Holdings conducted agents meetings and the couple attended such meetings.

She said since they attended the groundbreaking, orientation seminar, and weekly meetings, the couple were aware of the status of the development.

Pesquera said the firm she represents has complied with all the requirements set by the Housing and Land use Regulatory Board (HLURB).

"As far as the company is concerned, no violations were committed by the company against the couple," Pesquera said. (FREEMAN)
