2 persons found dead in Talisay

-

CEBU, Philippines – Two were found dead yesterday in separate places in Talisay City.

A still unidentified man, believed to be in his 30's, was found lying in his own pool of blood in sitio Magay, barangay Tangke, at 1:30 a.m. yesterday.

The man bore a gunshot wound on the back of the head, which the police in Talisay City said could have killed him.

The victim who is not a resident of the place was also believed to be either an "asset" of the police considering that the village is drug-infested. Another theory is that he could have just been a victim of "paregla."

The man was wearing a yellow T-shirt, a pair of cargo pants, and a pair of blue slippers.

No identification whatsoever was found in his person.

He was taken to the Talisay District Hospital in barangay San Isidro where he was declared dead on arrival.

The man's body was brought to the Cebu Memorial Funeral Homes.

Meanwhile, barely six hours later, police received the same alarm, this time in the mountain village of Candulawan.

Teresita Sanchez was found by the police in her rented apartment, where she was living alone, already in an advance state of decomposition.

P/Insp Hugo Ipong said Sanchez, believed to be in her 70's, had been dead for three days already.

It was a neighbor named "Arnel" who called the police when he smelled something awful emanating from the victim's floor.

Arnel lives on the ground floor of the same house where Sanchez was renting. Sanchez occupied the second floor.

According to Ipong, Sanchez was last seen by neighbors noon of Saturday.

Witnesses said she had hypertension, which police believed could be the cause of her death.

Sanchez was a widow and childless. (FREEMAN)
