Police arrest hotel owner's daughter

CEBU, Philippines – Police arrested and detained a daughter of a hotel owner in Talisay City for the alleged stabbing the other day of her live-in partner.

Maria Teresa Colmenares, 40, allegedly stabbed Vilarmino Villaver, 48, at about 2 p.m. The couple lives in barangay Poblacion.

The Colmenares family owns Tourist Seaside Hotel in barangay Poblacion.

Based on the initial investigation conducted by PO3 Mikey Espina and PO1 Rosauro Pasumala, Colmenares and her live-in partner, Vilarmino Villaver, 48, were drinking in their house just a block away from the police station.

It was reportedly in the middle of their drinking when Colmenares struck Villaver with a "bladed weapon," hitting him on the back and left shoulder.

PO2 Narciso Alforque, yesterday's desk officer, told The FREEMAN the motive of the crime was still being investigated.

He however said the complaint to be filed against the suspect has already been prepared.

Meanwhile, Alforque said Villaver, who was rushed to the Talisay District Hospital and was later on transferred to the governmentrun Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City, is already out of harm's way. (FREEMAN)
