CEBU, Philippines – Senior Citizens in Liloan town will ask Capitol for financial assistance to start a livelihood projects.
Consorcio Bughao, president of the Federation of Senior Citizens Association of the Philippines-Liloan Chapter, said some senior citizens want to have their own livelihood projects.
He said the elderly, some of them retired teachers and government employees, have no income.
"Naay uban nga nagdawat ug pension, apan daghan gyud ang walay klarong mga trabaho kaniadto," said Bughao.
He said while at home they can start their own livelihood projects with the support of the provincial government.
Bughao said Mayor Vincent Franco "Duke" Frasco is very supportive of the senior citizens.
He said the municipal government through the Department of Social Welfare and Developmewnt also assist them.
"Dako kaayo ang among pasalamat ni Mayor Frasaco kay gitagad gyud niya ang among mga problema ug kami tingali mangayo na usab ug tabang niya," said Bughao said. (FREEMAN)
