This Christmas: Lapu-Lapu wants P12.5 million for elderly

CEBU, Philippines – The Lapu-Lapu City council has approved a resolution requesting for an appropriation of P12.5 million which would be given out as Christmas cash gift to the city's registered elderly citizens.

The money will be taken from the Pagcor funds.

Vice Mayor Marcial Ycong said the city government, the City Social Welfare Office, and the Office of the Senior Citizens in Lapu-Lapu City are constantly committed to enhance the needs of the elderly citizens through various programs and activities.

The city council through a resolution has adopted the Lapu-Lapu City Senior Citizens handbook and accordingly the elderly citizens' welfare program to answer their needs. (FREEMAN)
