CEBU, Philippines – A man was injured after he was shot in a drinking session with his friends at a public market in Barangay Labangon, Cebu City around 12:30 a.m. yesterday.
Bobit Bellones Paculanang, 32 years old from Himalalon Negros Oriental and presently residing at Tres de Abril St. Labangon Cebu City, was drinking with his friends at the Taboan Public Market.
When Paculanang decided to leave, he was grabbed by two unknown men at the corner of Katipunan and A. Lopez Sts in Labangon.
According to PO1 Nilo Aventurado, the victim was heading home alone when the two men held his arms.
Paculanang resisted but one of the suspects struck his head with a blunt object while the other shot his back before fleeing.
The victim was still able to go home to tell his family of what happened. Paculanang is clueless on his attackers' motives. He could not also describe or identify them.
The police investigators have yet to identify the firearm used and the object used in hitting his head.
It was Bernard Masaba, 18 years old and neighbor of the victim who reported the incident to Cebu City Police Office.
