Two men injured in shooting incidents

CEBU, Philippines – Two men were injured after they were shot in separate incidents in Cebu City last Wednesday.

Minchael Muralde, 35, a resident of T. Caban St., Barangay Pasil, was buying cigarettes at a nearby store when he was shot by an unidentified man at past 12 p.m.

The gunman appeared suddenly and shot him without any apparent reason, the victim said.

He was hit at the lower portion of his stomach and was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center where he is in critical condition.

SPO4 Alex Dacua of the Homicide Section disclosed that a drug personality, whose name he withheld for investigation purposes, was reportedly mad at Muralde.

Two hours before that, a 41-year-old man was injured in the head after he was hit by a stray bullet along A. Lopez St., Barangay Calamba at around 10 p.m.

Melchor Villanueva was at the vicinity of his house when a burst of gunfire rang out.

A fragment of the bullet believed to have come from a caliber .45 pistol hit the lower left side of his head. He was taken to the CCMC for treatment.

Dacua said that even the victim himself could not say the shooting could have taken place. (FREEMAN)
