CEBU, Philippines – As he turns 56 today, Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama wishes for reconciliations between the city government and the province as well as those political rivals in the just concluded barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.
Topping his wish list however is good health for his children, Mikel and Michelin.
"My wish is the quick mending of differences of losers with winners. And to see in action the oneness among us within the city and with the province," Rama said.
The Mayor was also quick to explain that the unity he wants between the city and the province is not in the area of politics but in the field of service for the betterment of the whole island.
"This is what we need to be deserving of what we have," he added.
It has been Rama's yearly practice to conduct feeding in all barangay in Cebu City as part of his birthday celebration, his way to share his blessings in life to those who are less fortunate.
Yesterday, he started with the mountain barangays and the rest will be visited today until tomorrow.
He said he will start his day today with thanking the Lord by attending a mass at the Asilo de la Milagrosa Church at 6 am then spend time with orphaned children before going to his office at the City Hall. (FREEMAN)
