CEBU, Philippines - Felix Niere, 37, of Barangay Nangka, Boljoon walked the highway from Minglanilla to San Fernando, Cebu looking for money for his wife’s operation.
He did not find any.
He then rode a bus from San Fernando hoping it would take him to Oslob, only to be told at Argao that the bus’ destination was only Sibonga.
Niere got off in Poblacion, Sibonga, picked up a piece of rock and threw it at the driver’s side of the bus, which was making a U-turn to head back to the city.
The rock did not hit the driver, so no one was hurt.
Apparently angered by his series of misfortunes, Niere got another rock, a bigger one this time, and banged it several times on the head of another man who was also waiting for a ride at a waiting shed.
Ricardo Langga, 19, a store helper and resident of Barangay Bulasa, Argao, is now fighting for his life at a hospital in Cebu City.
“Na tripingan siguro ang biktima sa suspect unya gibusdakan ug bato. Nag-atang raman ug sakyanan ang biktima kay padung na unta uli,” PO3 Ederlino Bacusmo of Sibonga Police told The FREEMAN.
The people who happened to be at the area immediately helped Langga. (FREEMAN NEWS)
Niere’s misfortunes did not stop there, as he was beaten by the people who saw what he did. (FREEMAN NEWS)
Like Langga, Niere landed at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center, guarded by police. (FREEMAN NEWS)
