Woman hacks her husband

- Niña G. Sumacot-Abenoja -

CEBU, Philippines – A woman was arrested for hacking her husband who allegedly went wild and destroyed the walls of their house during an altercation in Barangay Biga, Toledo City on Saturday.

Juan Bolo Macaday, 43, suffered a hack wound on his right shoulder and is currently at the hospital after he was hacked by his own wife, Prima Ubas Macaday, 42.

SPO4 Gil Lastimosa of the Toledo City Police Station said Prima alleged that she was forced to hurt her husband after he started tearing the walls of their house.

Prima, who voluntarily surrendered to the police after the incident, claimed she went to the farm to tell her husband to have lunch at their house but he allegedly got irked because he was still making a cage for their cow.

"Nasuko na daw nuon nganong giapas siya, nga maayo ra ba daw siya mudawat sa halin. Miuli siya unya miuli sad daw sa balay nang laki unya nangisog, gipanangtang ang ilang bungbong nga amakan bitaw," Lastimosa said.

At this point, Prima was allegedly prompted to get a bolo and hacked her husband to stop him.

After attacking her husband, Prima immediately surrendered to DAS Police Substation of the city and was later turned over to the Toledo City Police Station where she is now detained.

Police responded to the area but did not see Juan there as he was taken to the hospital already.

Lastimosa said the victim's wound was not that serious.

He said they are still waiting for the decision of Juan if he will file a charge against his wife. (FREEMAN)
