Jonas to dictate what projects barangays should undertake

CEBU, Philippines – Starting 2011 Mayor Jonas Cortes will decide what projects barangays will undertake after learning that some barangays had used their P1 million Annual Investment Plan as a "band aid" solution to their perennial problems instead of using the money to bank-roll major projects.

Cortes said some barangay captains had used the money on some insignificant projects.

He cited the poor condition J.M Ceniza Street is in, despite having undergone asphalting many times before.

"Bisan ug mag sige ta og asphalto anang dalana og way drainage maguba dyud ang dan kay way kaagian sa tubig kondili diha ra dyud sa dan," he said. (FREEMAN)
