Two men hacked in Kinasang-an

- Niña G. Sumacot-Abenoja -

CEBU, Philippines –  A man was seriously injured after he was stabbed by the husband of his live-in-partner in Sitio Upper Suran, Barangay Kinasang-an, Cebu City Friday night.

Eduardo Gabuya, 37, a resident of Poblacion, Pardo, bore three stabbed wounds after he was stabbed by Camelo Pajo, the “estranged” husband of his live-in partner.

Investigation showed Gabuya was drinking with his live-in-partner, Melaflor Laogo, and his friends Gloria Ahig, Myrna Banzon and a certain Boy Solerol when the suspect arrived.

Pajo, who is harboring an ill-feeling against Gabuya, suddenly pulled out a bladed weapon and stabbed the victim repeatedly.

Gabuya was hit on his back, left hand, and left knee. He was rushed by his companions on board a taxicab to the Cebu City Medical Center while the suspect fled.

PO3 Geoffrey Gutual said the suspect, of Sitio Lucimba, Barangay Pardo, had long been harboring an ill-feeling against the victim for having an illicit affair with his wife for two years already.

Meanwhile, a man hacked his cousin-in-law several times after arguing in the middle of their drinking session in Villa Concepcion, Barangay Kinasang-an yesterday morning.

John Rey Alferez, 26, a motorcycle-for-hire driver, was injured on the left part of his chest and back after he was hacked by a certain Lando, his cousin-in-law and drinking buddy.

Gutual said the two were drinking with friends and neighbors when they suddenly argued.

Lando walked away and came back few minutes later already armed with a bolo. He hacked the victim who was later taken to the CCMC. (FREEMAN)
