Woman found dead, two others stabbed
CEBU, Philippines – A 57-year-old widow was found dead, with some liquid coming out of her nose, inside a toilet at Sitio Katsilaan Bato, Barangay Ermita yesterday morning.
The victim was identified as Fe Regis, who was unemployed and temporarily lived at the Freedom Park in Barangay Ermita. She was a native of Carcar, southern Cebu.
According to Edcel Bacayan Dungog, a 22-year-old resident of Kawit, and Judith Gamboa Dicdican, sister-in-law of the victim, they discovered the dead body of Regis when they used the toilet.
Dicdican narrated that the victim informed her the previous night that she was on her way to the comfort room.
SPO3 Temoteo Lopez Baños of the Carbon Police Station said that they saw no external injuries that may indicate foul play.
Baños added that they found Regis lying face down and already stiff. Her body was taken to the Saint Fernando Funeral Homes for autopsy.
Also yesterday morning in Barangay Ermita, a woman who stopped playing after winning a mahjong game was stabbed by his male neighbor in Sitio Katsilaan Bato.
Teresita Tesorio, 28, was stabbed by Ricardo Virtudazo alias Ricky.
Investigation showed that the victim was playing mahjong with her neighbors Lotlot Cajes and Juliet Samporna and another person outside the house of one Lydia Ce-niza beside Don Bosco at around 6 a.m. yesterday.
The suspect arrived and suddenly stabbed Tesorio's hand with a knife. The neighbors intervened and took the victim to the Cebu City Medical Center.
Tesorio told the police that Virtudazo was harboring an ill feeling against her after she quit playing mahjong with the suspect about three weeks ago. She said the sus-pect would not allow her to stop.
In a separate incident in Sitio Lower, Barangay Tunghaan, Miglanilla, a 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death while he was asleep inside the house of a businessman Tuesday dawn.
The dead body of Danilo Ricaplaza, of San Carlos, Negros Occidental was discovered by his co-workers at around 4:30 a.m. with several stab wounds from an eight-inch kitchen knife.
Police believe that a roommate killed Ricaplaza. This is after they learned that the suspect, a 16-year-old from Gihulngan, Negros Oriental, was as no longer in the place when the body was discovered.
