- Jose P. Sollano -

CEBU, Philippines - The municipal council of Consolacion has approved a proposed resolution which seeks to give allowances to the members of the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, and Bureau of Fire and Protection.

Vice Mayor Aurelio Damole and members of the Municipal Council said the granting of allowances to the police, firemen and jail guards would help them improve their services to the town.

Councilor Illuminado Alin, chairman of the committee on police, introduced the resolution.

Alin said the police in Consolacion was receiving P500 as monthly allowance but the previous administration stopped the practice.

Alin, who served as chief of the Consolacion police before his retirement, said giving allowances to the police, firemen, and jail guards would help them.

Vice Mayor Damole and members of the municipal council agreed to include an allocation for the allowance in the annual budget next year.

Alin promised to present the resolution to Mayor Teresa Alegado.

Meanwhile, a separate resolution adopted by the municipal council requests Cebu sixth district Rep. Gabriel Luis Quisumbing to allocate funds for the purchase of one multi-cab for the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.
