"3rd My Business Idol" to start September 20
CEBU, Philippines – The Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the provincial government, and the academe have come up with the "3rd My Business Idol," a competition intended to give college students the opportunity to show their talent in running a business enterprise.
Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia said that the contest started two years ago and helps small and medium business enterprises in the countryside.
"The contest will help students start their own business," she said.
Businessman Glenn Soco said ten schools are joining the contest and other universities and colleges will be invited.
The school will select their nominees who will engage in real work.
Students will make strategies on how to improve business plans and check how plans are used in improving the enterprise.
The program will be launched on September 20.
The nomination will be on October and businesses will be judged by November.
Right after the awarding on December, the winners will receive a cash prize which would be enough to start their own small and micro enterprises.
"We have these students who did not know the theories but know how to handle a business and we are able to work not only in private sectors but also in the academe," Garcia said. (FREEMAN)
