Lawyer falls victim to burglars
CEBU, Philippines – An unidentified person or persons broke into the house of a lawyer and stole over P600,000 worth of belongings and P10,000 cash in Doña Rita Village, Barangay Ta-lamban last Thursday morning.
Lawyer Pio Y. Go, 72, went home at past 12 p.m. that day and discovered that the items were missing inside their master's bedroom.
Investigation showed that the robber or robbers gained entry at the compound in Kings Road South by climbing over the fence.
The culprits then detached the window grill of the bathroom of the house, and then opened the sliding door of the master's bedroom and took the loot.
The items reported missing were a Rolex two-tone white and gold watch worth P450,000; Omega gold wrist watch worth P150,000; laptop worth P17,000 all placed on top of the desk drawer; and assorted polo shirts and long pants worth P20,000 taken from the cabinet.
The P10,000 cash placed inside the drawer was also missing, Go told the police.
PO3 Ramon Sanchez said the robbery was most probably carried out at around 9 a.m., when Go's wife left the master's bedroom. (FREEMAN)
