Dumpit's murder case: Defense witness says no intention to kill
CEBU, Philippines – A witness for SPO1 Adonis Dumpit said the policeman never intended to kill robbery suspect Ronron Go and even ordered that the victim be rushed to the hospital after he had shot him.
"There was no intent to kill. Besides, Adonis Dumpit commanded that the victim must be brought to the hospital," said Eddie Casas in the witness stand during yester-day's hearing of the murder case against Dumpit.
However, Janeth Badana, the mother of the victim, questioned why Casas testified in court saying he was not in the crime scene when the incident happened.
"Nganu makasulti man sya ana…he was even not in the crime scene, wa gayud koy nakit-an ngadto nga Casas, wa koy nakit-an nga laing polis ngadto except Dumpit," she said.
"Sayang si Casas nagpagamit lang kang Dumpit, SPO4 na unta siya," she added.
Badana said during the incident she was the one who called for help and not Dumpit as Casas claimed.
She further said that it was not Casas who brought her son to the mobile patrol car but bystanders in their place.
"Ngano ila mang ipagawas nga sila mao'y nagyayong sa akong anak nga daghang dugo ug si Dumpit pay nagsugo nga ipada sa hospital. In fact ako mao'y nangayo og tabang og mga standby maoy nagpasakay sa akong anak sa mobile car nga wa na'y kinabuhi," she said.
Badana said that Dumpit was following them while her son was brought to the mobile patrol car while and allegedly mocking her saying there is no way Go can still be alive because he used his .357 cal. revolver.
Dumpit was charged for the murder of Go, who was only 17 years old, in December 2004. (FREEMAN)
