CEBU, Philippines – The Department of Labor and Employment has instituted a monitoring mechanism to measure sentiments about the agency's programs and services, as well as to strengthen con-sultations with the public.
This move is in line with the battle cry of President Benigno Aquino III for good governance by strengthening consultation and feedback to enable government offices to respond quickly and more effectively to the public's concerns.
In a statement, DOLE said the mechanism involves a two-way process: receipt of the feedback from the public and the response that the DOLE will make to the feedback.
DOLE said that the process begins with an officer-of-the-day who will facilitate for a complainant to put his/her complaint and concerns in writing. The forms will be collected daily and will be acted upon quickly.
Aside from feedback boxes, the DOLE regional office also maintains a website, which provides a forum for public queries. (FREEMAN)
