CEBU, Philippines – A series of river and coastal clean up activities will highlight the Cebu City Government's observance of the "National Clean-up Month" on September.
Councilor Nida Cabrera, chairman of the committee on environment in the city council, said that the activities will promote awareness to the public on the importance of living a clean and healthy environment.
The clean up activities on the river banks which will be dubbed as "Cebu Great River Clean-up" will be participated in by the Cebu City Rivers Management Council (CRMC), Solid Waste Management Board (SWMB)and Cebu City Coastal Management Board (CCCMB)in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Re-sources-Region 7, non-governmental organizations and people's organizations.
"The active participation and cooperation from all sectors is necessary in achieving a successful activity," Cabrera said.
The observance of the clean up month is in accordance with the Presidential Proclamation No. 244, which declared the month of September as the "National Clean-Up Month." (FREEMAN)
