Teenager shot in the face dies
CEBU, Philippines - A teenager was killed after he was shot in the face in Barangay Taytay, Danao City, yesterday dawn.
John Edstel Suello, 19, of sitio Cadastral, Barangay Looc, Danao City, was shot in the nose with the slug exiting from the back of his head.
Danao police said around 3:05 a.m. yesterday, Suello and some friends were walking home from attending a disco in Taytay. When they reached sitio Widening of the same barangay three unidentified men on a motorcycle appeared and one of the passengers shot the victim.
“Ang biktima kauban iya mga barkada gikan sa diskohan kay fiesta man. Unya pagpanguli, kalit niagi ang motor dayon pusil,” SPO4 Edgar Gomez said.
The victim was brought to the Danao City District Hospital but died along the way.
Gomez also said that they are not certain if the victim was the target of the assailants since he was not alone during the time the incident happened.
Police are still getting information from the witnesses. They also said that the men who shot Suello were not wearing bonnets or helmets to hide their faces. (FREEMAN)
