Frasco to hand out school supplies

CEBU, Philippines - Liloan Municipal Mayor Vincent Franco "Duke" Frasco will visit different elementary schools in the town today to distribute school supplies.

In an interview with The FREEMAN, Mayor Frasco said he makes this a yearly activity in his bid to improve the quality of education among elementary students in Liloan.

Mayor Frasco said he will start the distribution in Cotcot Elementary School in barangay Cotcot, and then in Jubay Elementary School, and other schools in other barangays.

"Nakita nato nga usa sa angayan gayud hatagan pagtagad dinhi sa atong lungsod mao ang pagpalambo sa edukasyon sa atong kabataan," said Mayor Frasco.

Frasco said the municipal government through the municipal school board allocates funds for the purchase of school supplies.

The mayor said that aside from the distribution of school supplies, the municipal government is also working with officials of the Department of Education and private sectors for the construction of school buildings. (FREEMAN)
