Luigi donates books to daycare in Cogon

CEBU, Philippines - Day care pupils from barangay Cogon in Cordova town yesterday received reading materials and school supplies from sixth district Congressman Gabriel Luis "Luigi" Quisumbing Jr.

Assisting Quisumbing were Cogon barangay captain Andres Dinoy and former Cordova municipal councilor Victor Tago III.

Daycare teacher Sorayda Pogoy expressed her thanks to Quisumbing for the donation.

Quisumbing said one of his priorities is the improvement of the quality of education.

Quisumbing said that he wants to provide good foundation for students especially during their kindergarten days and elementary and also in high school up to college.

"Nakita nako nga usa sa importante ug angayan hatagan pagtagad sa ika-unom nga distrito mao ang edukasyon sa atong kabataan diha pa lang gani sa kinder hangtod na sa kolehiyo," Quisumbing said.

He said well-rounded students would have an easier time in getting employed after graduating from high school or college.

Dinoy, on the other hand, expressed his gratitude to Quisumbing.

Dinoy said barangay officials have also asked Quisumbing for dental equipment and a children's playground. (THE FREEMAN)
